AMBASSADORS FOR LIFE TRAINING

MIKE SPENCER BIO:

Mike Spencer served as a pastor for 23 years and is now the founder and president of Project LifeVoice, a gospel-driven human rights ministry that equips & inspires pro-life ambassadors to speak compellingly and to act sacrificially on behalf of our preborn neighbors targeted by abortion. Mike travels extensively throughout the United States and beyond, speaking in churches, at banquets & conferences, at pastors’ luncheons, and on high school campuses. Mike brings a pastor’s heart to the often emotional and divisive issue of abortion in a way that is both gracious and compelling.  He and his wife, Barb, have five children and 10 grandchildren. He and his wife, Barb, live in Newark, Ohio.

On Saturday, May 16th, Right to Life of Northwest Indiana will host Ambassadors for Life, a pro-life apologetics workshop, from 9:00am until noon at Queen of All Saints Legacy Center, Michigan City, IN (map below.) Two levels of training will be offered this year, each designed to equip pro-life ambassadors to communicate the pro-life message confidently and graciously without the need of vitriol or angry dialogue.

Pro-Life Apologetics 101 will help first-time attendees simplify the abortion debate by answering two crucial questions, What are the preborn? & What makes humans valuable? You’ll learn to make the case for life and refute logical fallacies of pro-choice rhetoric in a compelling manner. This class will be taught by Mike Spencer of Project LifeVoice. Mike also served as a pastor for 23 years before founding Project LifeVoice. He is a gifted and much sought-after communicator who brings a pastor’s heart to the often emotional and divisive issue of abortion in a way that is both gracious and compelling.

Pro-Life Apologetics 201 is designed to equip second-year attendees in advanced pro-life arguments. This track equips students to engage one of the most common philosophical arguments for abortion: bodily autonomy. Participants will explore the deeper battle of ideas behind the abortion debate by examining competing views of human value – the Substance View vs. the Functionalist View. Students will learn why these competing frameworks lead to very different conclusions about abortion and human rights, and they will be trained to thoughtfully challenge common pro-choice arguments while defending the value of every human being.
